    Cooking

Is there anyway I can learn to cook or anything or any good books? When my dad asked me questions the other day such as how do you cook carrots or make mashed potato to test me and I gave him my answers he started laughing for about 10 mins? How was I meant to know you don't cook carrots in an oven!!! Katie never lets me near the cooking utensils at her house too if shes making breakfast im only allowed to butter the toast :(.

Anyways my mum says shes proud that I can cook cheese on toast and Ive now learnt how to put the heat on right on the oven but when she was out before the only thing I could make was heating up a tin of plum tomatos and adding salt and pepper(which actually was tasty)....Ive kind of realised I need help?

Watch someone and learn that way, a lot of cooking has the same principles and it all falls into place eventually

Making things from scratch is the best instead of from a packet/jar and its cheaper :D

Loads of Indian places have offers where if you bring your own ingredients they'll teach you how to cook in their kitchens. Costs about a tenner. I think there's one on Westgate rd.

Ive just started watching ready steady cook all the time. I wish i could cook

I can cook to an extent but its very very basic im just to lazy to learn.....it would be so much easier if we could download courses to our brains like in the matrix :(

    Re: Cooking

to be fair if you wanted roasted veg you could cook your carrots in the oven but usually in a pan is the normal thing...

go & get a beginners cook book & they give you step by step guides to everything... :)

or just ask Auntie Ruth & she can tell you a fair few things & if i don't know the answer my mam will
