live8: pink floyd Live 8: Floyd won't reap rewards, and Pete D can't Last updated 05 July 2005 Pink Floyd star David Gilmour is urging bands involved in the Live 8 concerts to give all money made from increased sales to charity. Pretty much all the artists have seen sales soar since Saturday. But David is handing over every penny and wants the other bands to do the same. Pink Floyd reformed specially for the event but despite reports they've been offered a hundred million pounds to tour the States David says there won't be any repeat performances. "It was absolutely brilliant, it was terrific fun to be back together with the guys. The audience were brilliant, it felt really momentous to be out doing that." "It didn't make me want to leap out straight away on tour. I'm busy making a solo record at the moment, Saturday was just a one-off." * * * There was one artist who didn't benefit from taking to the Live 8 stage. Apparently Pete Doherty's sales have gone down, and he's hit back at people who've criticised his performance saying that he was high only on 'adrenaline' and 'nerves' when he was on stage. He says he'd had a row with Kate Moss before going on so may have been a bit 'agitated' but he's clean of drugs.
Re: live8: pink floyd what about all of the money they made from the royalties they would have recieved through airing their music across the entire planet on major tv and radio stations? without the increased sales of records each artist would of made a shit load of cash just by turning up and playing - not having a go was just saying
Re: Re: live8: pink floyd i get the feeling that they dont need the royalties anyway so i'm sure they'll give all royalties up....pink floyd announced they are sick of the money as they have too much of it a few years ago...
