News about the Asylum Seekers An asylum seeker infected four women with HIV after failing to tell them he had the virus, a court heard yesterday. Musician Feston Konzani, 28, was warned by doctors about the risk to partners — but continued sleeping with girlfriends for three years, it was alleged. Three of the infected women discovered they were HIV positive after falling pregnant, Teesside Crown Court was told. Konzani, who denies inflicting grievous bodily harm, came to Britain in 1998 from Malawi, southern Africa. He claimed asylum because he was persecuted for being homosexual. He had relationships with several women after moving to Middlesbrough and was told he had HIV in November 2000, said prosecutor Ian Skelt. He added: “He was told the risk he posed to others but he has gone on to have protected and unprotected sex with a number of women resulting in him infecting them with the virus. "At no time did he tell them he was suffering from HIV and indeed when he was asked by some of the women he denied it.” Mr Skelt said Konzani knew about HIV after having a gay relationship with British diplomat Christopher Henderson in Malawi in 1995. The envoy is not infected, the court heard. The trial continues. I know alot of ppl are all four asylum seekers and may arent? I aint really got an opinion on them as dont know enough about them. But do you think this particular story hit the head lines mainly cause he is an asylum seeker? In other words if it was jsut some average Brit would it of got this much publicity?
There is a program coming on CH4 (possibly tonight) about some yuppy estate rallying and protesting about asylum seekers. In the short clip the word "them" was used at least 10 times. Should be good viewing
Re: News about the Asylum Seekers yes this type of story would of made the headlines no matter what. if you remove the words asylum seeker from that news story, read it back, and then still think it is not scary and newsworthy then i am amazed. to date there has only ever been one conviction in the UK of someone delibarately or knowingly infecting someone with HIV via conseual sex. last week a judge has just ruled the verdict in the first case (r vs dica) unsafe and it is now going to be heard in the court of appeal. delibarely infecting someone with HIV is a very serious offence, no matter who the accused is.
Aye saw the ads for this. Shocking. They have just as much right to live here as they do. Some woman was talking fucking crap saying she was gonna get raped.....she was pig ugly so i doubt it
Dica ... HIV positive Dica ... HIV positive AN asylum seeker convicted of knowingly giving two women the AIDS virus has won the right to a retrial. HIV-positive Mohammed Dica, 38, was jailed for eight years last year for inflicting “biological GBH”. Lawyers for married Dica told a jury he had warned two lovers of his condition and that they still consented to unprotected sex. But Judge Nicholas Philpot at Inner London Crown Court ruled the issue of consent irrelevant as the women could not legally agree to such “serious harm”. In a written judgment released yesterday, three Court of Appeal judges overruled Judge Philpot’s ruling and quashed the jury’s verdict. The solicitor’s clerk was the first person in England and Wales to be convicted of sexually transmitting a disease for 137 years. A retrial is expected within two months. Dad-of-three Dica’s bail application was rejected. Kenyan-born Dica, of Mitcham, South London, arrived in Britain in 1993 and was diagnosed HIV positive in 1995. Sick and wrong!
